Ngwo-ngwo is one of the signature dishes in Igbo land. It is one of a kind dish, i so love this dish because of the meat used, because am a big fan of meats or chickens.
INGREDIENTS
1½ kg goat meat
100g tomatoes
100g onions
30g pepper
30g corn flour for thickening
3½ liters of water
60g Erusi (nchoanwu)
7 ginger for flavour to taste.
METHOD
1. Cut the meat into small pieces.
2. Wash the meat and place in a medium sized pot.
3. Add water and bring to boil.
4. Add the grinded ingredients.
5. Add the chopped erusi.
6. Mix the corn flour with a little water and add to soup.
7. Allow to cook for another 30 minutes until meat is tender.
8. Correct seasoning and serve hot. This is a hot pepper soup and could beaten with boiled plantain.
DISH ACCOMPANIMENTS.
This dish can be accompanied by palm wine.
The palm wine is a local drink that is gotten from palm trees and it tastes delicious.
